Manjima Mohan to Share a Screen space with Vijay Sethupathi in Tughlag Durbar

The team of Vijay Sethupathi’s Tughlag Durbar is on an announcement spree. Just a few days ago, the makers announced that Aditi Rao Hydari has been roped in to play one of the lead roles, and filmmakers Prem Kumar and Balaji Tharaneetharan join the team as cinematographer and dialogue writer respectively. And now, the latest announcement made on social media is that  Manjima  Mohan will be joining the cast.

Director Delhi Prasad Deenadayalan says, “It’s an important and an interesting role, and I felt Manjima would be apt for it. She read the script and okayed it almost immediately. It’s an emotional part, and the focus is more on the bond her character will share with Vijay Sethupathi’s. There’s a lot of scope for performance and we are sure she will ace it.” The film was launched recently with a puja, and Manjima will join the team from the first schedule, which is likely to begin by September end, in Chennai.

The actress says, “I am excited to work with Vijay Sethupathi. He is one actor I’ve always wanted to share screen space with. I am glad that I am getting to do a film with him. I liked the way the director narrated the script to me. These are the kind of roles that I wanted to do from day one in the industry and I am happy that I am finally getting to do them now. It is a huge star cast, and I couldn’t let go of this script. Also, Vijay Sethupathi is such a good actor and I’m sure it will be quite challenging for me.” Will she be sporting a new look? “I want to. I am kind of bored now, having the same girl-next-door look. We should figure out something. Everything happened in such a short span. So, we will have to discuss,” she says.
