This is my first Rom-Com in Tamil says Music Director Ghibran..!

Having completed almost 25 films in Tamil, Ghibran , who has worked in other languages, too, says working in Dhanusu Raasi Neyargalae (DRN) was a unique experience as the film is his first out-and-out rom-com in Kollywood. According to him, most of his Tamil movies required him to come up with intense music. Though he has composed for Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah and Sixer, which belonged to romance and comedy genres respectively, he feels DRN is his first rom-com.

“When director Sanjay approached me, he asked me to come up with a commercial album which which can be enjoyed by all,” he says, adding, “He requested me not to experiment with any song as the film was all about fun and romance. He had liked my work in Tollywood films Jil and Run Raja Run.”

The composer says he ensured to bring difference between each song in the album. He explains, “I Want A Girl is neither EDM nor a kuthu number, but it has the required masala. Neethan Venumadi has an international appeal to it. Yaaru Mela is almost like a Bollywood-ish number which has marriage as its theme, but we decided to avoid tested-and-tried pattern for wedding songs. It has some naughtiness and cuteness to it. Murada Murada is the song which took us a lot of time. Sanjay is a huge fan of Bombay Jayshree and he wanted her to croon it. It is a little sensuous track; as the track comes in the second half, we made sure that it isn’t really slow. Come Back is a motivational song which comes when the hero is emotionally down. It is a quirky number with folk element to it.”

Ghibran feels that the album is quite different from his intense albums like Uttama Villain, Aramm, etc. “This album is actually a surprise as well as shocking for some of my fans. The songs are the kind of numbers you would listen perhaps on a road trip or while working out in a gym,” he says.
