An English Poet from a family of Tamil Poets | Nandini Karky’s ‘Sun Seeds’ – A Poetry Collection
Nandini Karky, who has worked as a subtitler on projects such as Darbar, Sarkar, Yennai Arindhaal, I, Sarvam Thaala Mayam and Thangameengal, has released a poetry collection called ‘Sun Seeds’.
Poet Vairamuthu, his wife Ponmani Vairamuthu and sons Madhan Karky and Kabilan Vairamuthu are known for their contribution to Tamil poetry. Nandini Karky is the daughter-in-law of Poet Vairamuthu and the wife of Madhan Karky. From this family of Tamil poets, Nandini commences her literary journey as an English poet.
From darkness to light, the book treads on a two-fold quest. Nandini Karky’s verses travel with nature’s beauty and changes on one path, and traverse through the highs and lows of the mind in a parallel path.
In the Author Bio of her book, Nandini Karky mentions that the verses are inspired by her life experiences as a student of engineering at Anna University, as a software engineer in the US, and as an avid traveller who has visited all seven continents of the world. For the past one year, Nandini Karky has been podcasting Sangam Lit, a song-a-day English interpretation of 2000-year-old Tamil poetry.
Notion Press has published this poetry collection. Nandini Karky hopes that this book, which is being released on Amazon and Amazon Kindle, will not only be a treat for poetry lovers but also, a therapy for the dispirited!
