Director Santhosh turns hero for his Iruttu Arayil Murattu Kuthu Sequel!
It was confirmed by director Santhosh P Jayakumar that his adult comedy, Iruttu Arayil Murattu Kuthu,(IAMK) will get a sequel. Despite getting into controversy over its adult content, the film was a success. And that has encouraged Santhosh to do a sequel. What’s interesting is that Santhosh himself steps into the shoes of an actor in this film.
“They are scared,” he laughs, adding, “On a serious note, we did speak to a couple of actors, but nothing worked out. A few friends and technicians suggested that I take up the lead role. Eventually, I decided to act. It was decided only four days ago (laughs) and we have already started the shoot in Chennai.”
And about the cast, he says, “Danny, Motta Rajendran, Ravi Maria, Chaams and Manobala have been roped in, too. Two actresses — Karishma and Akriti— from Mumbai — will play the female leads. After shooting some portions in Chennai, we will be heading to Bangkok for canning the rest of the portions.”
At a time when a lot of discussion is happening on how women are portrayed in cinema today, Santhosh says that he is careful about this film. He says, “My movie had courted controversy, but I have never glorified misogyny. I have never done anything that is disrespectful of women.”
