கடந்த 2022ல் வெளியான தேசிய விருது பெற்ற ’ராக்கெட்ரி: தி நம்பி எஃபெக்ட்’ படத்தினை தொடர்ந்து, வர்கீஸ் மூலன் பிக்சர்ஸ் மற்றும் ட்ரைகலர் பிலிம்ஸ் மீண்டும் இணைகின்றன. கேன்ஸ் திரைப்பட விழாவில் ’ராக்கெட்ரி: தி நம்பி எஃபெக்ட்’ படத்தின் ப்ரீமியரின் போது அங்கு படம் பார்த்த அனைவரும் எழுந்து நின்று பாராட்டினர். இதுமட்டுமல்லாது, வணிக ரீதியாகவும் விமர்சன ரீதியாகவும் இந்தப் படம் பாராட்டுகளைப் பெற்றது. இந்த வெற்றிதான் ‘ராக்கெட்ரி’ படக்கூட்டணி மீண்டும் இணைய காரணமாக அமைந்தது.

Actor Madhavan in biopic of ‘G.D. Naidu – The Edison of India’
Films honouring the unsung heroes and hidden treasures of the Indian subcontinent consistently resonate with audiences. Biopics, in particular, have become a powerful way for today’s generation to learn about the iconic figures who have contributed to India’s greatness across various fields. Actor Madhavan is poised to captivate film enthusiasts by portraying G.D. Naidu, the ‘Edison of India,’ in a new biopic written and directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar.
Following their National Award for Best Feature Film of 2022 for “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect,” Varghese Moolan Pictures and Tricolour Films are reuniting again. “Rocketry’s” success began with its premiere at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, where it received a standing ovation, and continued with both commercial success and critical acclaim. This success has generated considerable excitement for this continued collaboration.
Madhavan has consistently defied typecasting, showcasing his versatility as an actor. From the inspiring portrayal of Nambi Narayanan in “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect” to his menacing turn in “Shaitan,” he has captivated audiences with diverse roles. Now, Madhavan is set to embody another compelling character: G.D. Naidu, the visionary and national hero known as the ‘Edison of India’ and the ‘Wealth Creator of Coimbatore.’
Filming of the Indian schedule begins this month in Coimbatore, G.D. Naidu’s birthplace, with the production team committed to shooting entirely on location to capture the authenticity of his life and times. The untitled film will be produced by Varghese Moolan and Vijay Moolan of Varghese Moolan Pictures, and R. Madhavan and Sarita Madhavan of Tricolour Films. Aravind Kamalanathan takes on a dual challenge, serving as the film’s cinematographer and creative producer.
The film’s title will be revealed on February 18th, and the remaining cast and crew will be announced in the coming months.
