‘NEEYA 2’ – A HIGH VIOLENT LOVE STORY FEATURING JAI, VARALAXMI, RAI LAXMI AND CATHERINE TRESA
It’s been nearly 4 decades and yet what stands out to be the mother of all horror biggies is Kamal Haasan-Sri Priya starrer ‘Neeya’. The film released in 1979 turned to be a blockbuster leaving audiences so much captured by its spine-shuddering elements. Now, it’s time to revisit a film with same title ‘Neeya 2’, produced in a grander scale. Ask Director L Suresh about this and he says, “The grandeur is nowhere going to be seen as a gaudy factor. But the script demands such elements, which will definitely be great experience fo the audiences. One of the greatest highlights of this film is a 22-ft serpent to be seen in an important role and will be seen throughout the movie. To make sure that we get the exact serpent as we imagined, cinematographer and I had to travel across different places of India and Thailand. Finally, we happened to find the exact one in Bangkok. It took enough time to understand its physique, body language and nature. We’re sure it’s appearance and presence throughout the film would be an enjoyable experience for universal audiences.”
Speaking about the cast and crew, Director L Suresh continues to add, “Jai is playing lead role in this film and will be seen in two different dimensions. Varalaxmi will be seen as a snake woman while Rai Laxmi and Catherine Tresa will be seen in other female lead roles. Bala Saravanan and many more prominent actors would be seen in important roles. The shooting of this film with first schedule happened in Pondicherry and will be continued with followed schedules in Talakonam, Chennai, Madurai and Chalakudi.”
Neeya -2 will be a violent and passionate love story, which is being produced at a whopping budget of 10 Crores. Jumbo Cinemas A.Sridhar, who is far-famed for his vast experience of film production, embarks on his journey as a producer with this film.
