Shraddha Srinath is ecstatic with response for NKP!
Actress Shraddha Srinath is over the moon with the reception that her new release, Nerkonda Paarvai (NKP), has received. NKP, which has Ajith as the male lead, is a remake of the Bollywood film, PINK, and addresses a hugely topical issue — consent. Shraddha plays the role which was played by Taapsee in the original, and her performance, showcasing both the vulnerability and inner strength of a modern-day young woman, has already come in for appreciation.
“Watched the 4 am show of #NerkondaPaarvai today at Rohini Cinemas. The air was electric. The fans were high on excitement and love for their Thala. I have never received such a warm welcome as the one I received this morning. And then the show began. It’s weird saying this being part of the team, but I LOVED OUR MOVIE. Everyone’s performance was outstanding. Each and every single person made you feel some emotion for them. Be it sympathy, be it disgust, be it anger, be it fear. Today, I need to thank my director Vinoth sir more than anything. Sir, I put my unquestioning faith in you and I’m glad. This movie has changed me,” (sic) tweeted the actress after catching the First Day First Show of the movie.
She also praised her team, including co-star Ajith and producer Boney Kapoor. “Thanks to Ajith sir – for being the most appreciative, the most approachable human being. I remember him telling us how this movie will change all our lives. And he was 100% right. My producer @BoneyKapoor – thank you sir for orchestrating the entire project and making it happen. It’s an honour to have been a part of this project. My entire cast and crew. Outdoor shoots can be difficult. Doing an emotional film like this can be challenging. I want to thank everyone for always having a smiling face and powering through this immensely hectic film. Thank you for the laughs and thank you for the support. This is not one person’s movie. It belongs to everyone. The entire team, the cast, the crew. Everybody owned it. Today is such an important day for everyone who is part of the film and I only wish the best for all of my team members,” (sic) she tweeted.

The actress, who plays the character of Meera Krishnan, a dancer, in the film, added that she could finally let go of the emotional character after seeing the thunderous response. “As for me, as the end credits rolled on screen this morning, I finally let go of Meera. I felt proud of how she stood up against all odds and I cheered for her victory in my heart. Everything was worth it in the end. A big thank you and and sheer gratitude to the army of Thala fans and perhaps 0.00001% of audience members who follow my work. Your cheers are still buzzing in my ears,” (sic) she tweeted.
The actress was seen stepping out of the theatre in tears, moved by the fantastic reception.
