A biopic on legendary cricketer Kapil Dev is in the making. With Ranveer Singh portraying the leading role, Ammy Virk has been finalised to play Balwinder Singh Sandhu in this biopic, titled ’83’.
Now, the latest name that has joined the star cast is Tamil actor Jiiva. Earlier it was reported that Jiiva has been roped in for the film and the actor is excited to be a part of the film. Being a Cricket buff himself, Jiiva has played several cricket matches and has been in the winning teams as well. Now, another report suggests that he has been finalised to play Krishnamachari Srikkant in ’83’.

Producer, Madhu Mantena had shared the details with a daily. She said that she has been always a huge fan of Jiiva since the time she saw one of her favourite films titled,’KO‘ along with him. The maker further revealed that she could not think of anyone better who could play Srikkant so well.
Interestingly, With this film, the South Indian Charm Actor Jiiva will be making his Bollywood debut. The star cast will soon start shooting for the film.
