Trisha is probably one of the most commercially successful heroines in south and she has the maximum number of blockbuster hits.  There was a time when Trisha was doing four films at a time, shuttling between Hyderabad and Chennai being the most sought after heroine by all top stars in both Telugu and Tamil. Her regret was that she never bagged a role opposite Rajinikanth and now that dream is coming through with Petta. 2018 was memorable for Trisha after scoring a huge hit 96, which went on to be a cult romantic classic and was a runaway success in Kerala too. Now the south queen as she is known among her fans, is all set for the release of Petta in which she plays a traditional Madurai girl. Her costumes and jewellery in the film will depict Sridevi’s looks in the ‘80s, says a source close to team Petta.  As Karthik Subbaraj is a big fan of Rajini-Sridevi pair, he roped in Trisha to romance Rajinikanth in the flashback portions and tried to bring back the classic essence of the Jodi. Though Trisha doesn’t have combination scenes with Simran, the actress is said to be playing a strong character in Petta. Meanwhile, appreciations are pouring in for Trisha, as she is going to sweep all the awards for the year for her soul-stirring performance in 96. She can certainly teach today’s youngsters a thing or two about star power.  The prestigious Vikatan Awards has honored her with ‘Best Actress’ award and more such honors is sure to follow this year. The talented actress is getting many interesting roles but she will be making everything official only after the release of Petta.
