Trisha’s absence for the #ParamapadhamVilayattu Press Meet irks producers, T Siva issues warning!
Paramapatham Vilayattu , Trisha’s 60th film is releasing on 28th february. Produced by 24 Hours Productions, the film has music by Ambareesh and is directed by K Thirugnanam. The pre-release function was attended by Bhagyaraj, T Siva, TV actor Sangeetha ( who plays Trisha’s friend, cameraman J Dinesh ( who assisted RD Rajasekhar), Ambareesh ( who revealed this is his 8th film) , producer K Rajan, baby Manasvi and actor Vijay Varma amongst others. The absence of Trisha, the film’s leading actor came as a surprise to those present.
Maanadu Producer Suresh Kamatchi said, ” Im happy at the way Thirugnanam has done this film. But I’m concerned about why actors don’t come to their own film events for promotions. Its seems to have become a trend these days. When Rajini and Kamal come why can’t certain other stars come and meet the press and fans who have made them what they are? Why do producers cast popular stars? Its because they have a large fan following that we sign them up, so and when they come to the film’s functions it helps promote the film. This is their responsibility. Why do they avoid it? ” He seemed to be referring to the absence of Trisha at her own film event.
Producer T Siva also expressed his displeasure about Trisha not attending her film’s event. “Today its doubtful even if big hero films will earn profits. In such a scenario, when a producer takes a risk releasing a heroine -oriented film with his own funds, it’s important for the heroine to be present, because there are no other major actors to represent the film to media. Others in the cast are smaller actors. The stars themselves may not need the attention but the technicians who work in such films need that promotion which helps films to run. In case Trisha could not attend today for some reason, then she should at least in this coming week, attend the promotions of this film which is releasing on friday 28th. As member of producer council I must warn that in case she cannot attend promotions then she should return a portion of her salary as compensation. This will be like a warning to others as well. We cannot let this continue. I request everyone to co-operate for their film’s benefit. “
When contacted later, director and producer Thirugnanam revealed that when invited for the event, Trisha claimed that she was in Dubai and so she couldn’t attend the pre-release event.
Now it remains to be seen if Trisha will take Siva’s words seriously and attend the film promotions this week for the benefit of the project. To her credit, Trisha did attend the grand success meet of her film 96 with Vijay Sethupathi. It maybe recalled that Lady Superstar too avoids film promotions and press meets. So, will Trisha do justice to her 60th project, by promoting it this coming week? Watch this space…!
